Howard Wiener Secures $600K Settlement for Teen Injured in Rock Climbing Accident

Howard Wiener, a 15-year Super Lawyers honoree, recently secured a $600K settlement on behalf of a teenager who was injured while visiting a rock climbing center on a school trip.

While climbing down the wall, the safety wire attached to the teen’s harness unexpectedly detached, causing a fall that resulted in multiple serious injuries. These included a left distal radius, malunion of the left distal radius fracture, lumbar compression fracture, and ulnar styloid comminuted displaced fracture. The teen had to undergo a closed reduction on his left wrist.

Andrew Prince Secures Over $1 Million for Multiple Clients

Andrew Prince, a dedicated personal injury attorney, motorcycle safety and litigation advocate, and recognized Super Lawyers honoree, recently secured four settlements — $705K for a woman who was assaulted while visiting a guest at a luxury apartment building, $375K for a driver who was rear-ended, $235K for a motorcyclist struck by a driver running a red light, and $275K for a motorcyclist who was struck by a chunk of concrete median.

In the first case, the woman was visiting a resident of a luxury apartment building when another resident threatened and attacked her in the building’s common area. When she notified the doorman of the incident, the doorman failed to contact police, leading the victim to suffer another violent attack that resulted in loss of vision in one of her eyes.

In the second case, Prince’s client was stopped and waiting to make a left turn when his vehicle was rear-ended. The victim was taken to the hospital where he underwent an open reduction internal fixation to repair a blowout fracture of his orbital bone, which was sustained after his vehicle’s airbag went off. In addition to that injury, the client also suffered disc herniations in both his lumbar and cervical spine, later undergoing epidural steroid injections. Though the defense tried to argue that the changes in the client’s spine were degenerative, the case was favorably resolved by Mr. Prince.

In the third case, Prince secured a $235,000 settlement for a client who had suffered injuries to his wrist and knee after his motorcycle was struck by a driver running a red light. The client underwent an open reduction internal fixation with a volar plate to repair a left distal radius fracture and carpal tunnel release.

Prince also represented another motorcyclist in his motorcycle accident claim — successfully securing $275,000 — after a truck slammed into a concrete median, of which a piece flew off and struck the motorcyclist. The plaintiff had to undergo two surgeries — one to repair a subacute fracture of the scaphoid wrist and one to repair a dislocated toe. Along with a private investigator, Prince was able to identify the owner of the truck who caused the accident.

Ann Merritt Settles a Truck Accident Case for $130K

Ann Merritt, a partner with Team Law and a dedicated advocate for those injured in motor vehicle accidents and slips and falls, secured a $130,000 settlement for a client who, while driving a tractor trailer owned by his employer, was struck by another driver. Merritt’s client suffered a moderate supraspinatus tendinosis with partial thickness articular sided tear in his shoulder, along with other injuries. The client underwent arthroscopic shoulder surgery, as a result of the accident.

Not only did Merritt file a lawsuit against the negligent driver, she is also representing the client in his ongoing Workers’ Compensation case, ensuring the client is fully compensated for his injuries.

Gordon Kessler Secures $185K For New Jersey Car Accident Victim

Gordon Kessler, who brings his experience in insurance defense litigation to Team Law, recovered $185K for his client, who sustained multiple injuries to his neck and back after another driver crossed over the double yellow line and struck his vehicle head-on.
