Motorcycle Crash Attorneys in Summit, NJ Provide Injured Clients with Knowledgeable and Strategic Legal Advice

Motorcycle accidents frequently lead to serious injuries for riders involved in the accident. As a result, recovering from a motorcycle accident can be a difficult and painful experience for an injured rider. Recovering from an accident can also put significant financial stress on you and your family — as a result, a quick settlement offer from the insurance company can seem very attractive, since that money will help pay off bills and other expenses you are facing. However, the reality is that quick settlements offered by an insurance company rarely cover all the expenses that an injured motorcycle accident victim will incur by the end of their road to recovery — unfortunately, insurance companies are relying on an injured victim’s need for quick cash to get away with paying less than the insurance company or an at-fault rider may be legally responsible for. That is why it is critical that, when you are injured in a motorcycle accident, you speak to experienced Summit motorcycle accident lawyers who can help you understand what your claim is really worth and will fight to get you full and fair compensation.

Frequently Asked Questions about Summit, NJ Motorcycle Accidents

How do I pay for my medical treatment immediately after my accident?

If you have been seriously injured in a motorcycle accident, you may have several options for getting money to help pay for your medical treatment expenses. First, you can have your medical treatment covered through your health insurance. However, if you later receive compensation from the party at fault for your accident, your health insurer may seek to be reimbursed for the benefits it paid out on your behalf (so that you do not receive a “double” recovery). In addition, you may also be able to obtain coverage for medical expenses through the personal injury protection coverage under your motorcycle insurance policy. PIP coverage is considered “no-fault” coverage, because you are entitled to benefits regardless of who was at fault for your accident. PIP coverage can also provide reimbursement for other expenses, such as lost wages.

Do I need an attorney if I want to accept a settlement from the insurance company?

Although you are not obligated to have an attorney help you if you decide to accept a settlement with the insurance company, it is advisable to seek out the assistance of an attorney before you do accept a settlement. Our motorcycle crash attorneys in Summit, NJ can evaluate any settlement offer you receive and advise you as to whether it represents fair and full compensation of your damages. Our attorneys can also negotiate on your behalf to get you an even better settlement offer.
