Two car accidents, two fatalities on new jersey turnpike in middlesex county

car accident fatalities Clark, NJ

Law enforcement is trying to determine exactly what happened in two recent fatal car accidents on the New Jersey Turnpike in Middlesex County.

The first auto accident occurred early in the morning during rush hour, just before 7:00 a.m. A motorist died when his car overturned on the outer part of the highway around milepost 89.8 in Woodbridge, NJ. It is unclear at this time why the driver, who was traveling northbound on the New Jersey Turnpike, lost control of the car.

In addition to the driver tragically dying as a result of the accident, two other people inside the car sustained significant physical injuries. They were transported to a nearby hospital so that doctors could provide them with medical treatment and were later said to be listed in stable condition.

Fatal crime scene units with the NJ State Police conducted an investigation into the fatal crash. Meanwhile, emergency crews worked to clear debris from the accident scene and authorities closed down three lanes on the highway, creating major traffic delays for morning commuters.

The second fatal crash occurred several hours later, near an on-ramp for the New Jersey Turnpike. According to authorities, a car traveling along Route 32 in South Brunswick NJ was involved in a single-vehicle accident around 12:00 p.m.

Although limited information about the second fatal accident was made available, South Brunswick police released an online statement via Facebook indicating that one person had been pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Causes of Single-Vehicle Car Accidents

It is important to keep in mind that just because only one vehicle was involved in an accident does not necessarily mean that the driver is at fault or was acting negligently. The reality is that single-vehicle auto accidents are extremely common on NJ roads and can be caused by a number of different factors.

Sometimes, single-vehicle crashes are caused by poor road conditions, inclement weather, badly designed sections of road with sharp curves, defective auto parts, and even the actions of other drivers on the roadway.
